  8. NewViews features include:
  9.  
  10. · Allows the use of nearly any text or graphics viewer that
  11.   supports commandline viewing.  It should also work fine
  12.   with programs such as Play16.
  13.  
  14. · Allows the user to set the hotkey for viewing (assuming
  15.   the viewer provides a file requester.)
  16.  
  17. · Allows the user to set the X and Y coordinates of the
  18.   appicon via ToolTypes.
  19.  
  20. · Allows setting of a default dir for the file requester
  21.   to start with. *NEW FOR V1.2*
  22.  
  23. · Can be enabled/disabled via any commodities exchange
  24.   program. Can also be removed via CTRL-C.

  32.    NewView was basically written because I was tired of having
  33. to open things up all the time just to view something be it a
  34. picture or text etc.  I wanted the ablility to have something
  35. on my desktop that I could just drop something onto and view
  36. that particular something.  The ability to remove it also
  37. crossed my mind and thus it was wrapped into a commodity.
  38. Otherwise one would have to have a program to send the CTRL-C
  39. to it (such as SysInspector.)  With the commodity wrapper over
  40. it, you can enable and disable the appicon at any point in time
  41. or even remove it.  Keep in mind that even though it's disabled
  42. the AppIcon will still remain on the desktop, you just won't be
  43. able to use it.
